Back to Game

🌿 Uncommon 🌙 Personal Dreams

A door beyond the map leads to a game of impossible beauty. Benny Everon follows its wonders toward a little home, then returns with the memory of somewhere he had hoped to stay.

Pop Electronic Storytelling Ambient Indie

For these travelers, quests, maps, rewards, and loading signs are the ordinary fabric of existence. They have grown through challenges, learned from losses, and trusted that the rules apply to everyone.

A broken tile reveals a door beyond the known map. On the other side is an astonishing game: an unbroken sky, leaves that never fall quite alike, and sensations no image has ever given them. They learn its tasks, earn its coins, and build a small life together.

Then hackers take what they earned. Reports bring no remedy. The world remains beautiful around them as they leave, carrying a wish that its server might someday belong to someone fair. Their save is still waiting.

About this song

"Back to Game" follows a seasoned player whose curiosity carries him and his companions beyond the world they know. New senses awaken, ordinary things become discoveries, and completed quests slowly become a home of their own.

When that home is taken, they turn to the people entrusted with keeping the game fair. Their journey back begins with an unanswered hope that someone will put things right.

Nostalgic synthwave pop, soft electronic drums, piano, and delicate chiptune textures carry the song from warm discovery into quiet heartbreak. The returning chorus changes with the journey: what began as the promise of another adventure becomes a way home from a place they still love.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
We knew the roads, we knew the climb,
We lost our coins a thousand times.
We learned each level, played our share;
We lost sometimes, but lost it fair.

[Pre-Chorus]
A different sky beyond each hill,
Another map to wander still.
Your name was always next to mine;
We'd meet beneath the loading sign.

[Chorus]
Back to game, another day,
Another quest along the way.
Leave a little room for me;
There's still so much we haven't seen.
Back to game, the morning calls,
Beyond the gates, beyond the walls.
Whatever waits around the bend,
I'll meet you there, my oldest friend.

[Verse 2]
One broken tile let daylight through,
A door outside the map we knew.
We stepped across; the sky stayed clear.
No loading screen to bring us here.

[Discovery]
Which engine could do this?
No edge beyond the blue.
The physics are insane;
Each falling leaf does something new.

[Verse 3]
The rain unlocked a sense in me;
I felt the things I used to see.
The flowers offered something more
Than all their colors had before.

[Refrain]
What a beautiful game,
Let the next quest wait.
We had so many maps to roam;
Now all we want is one more day.

[Verse 4]
We learned the quests, we learned the trade,
We watched each coin our progress made.
A table first, a lamp to glow;
At last, a little home of our own.

[Pre-Chorus]
We put our names beside the door,
Left room for friends upon the floor.
So much to build, so much to try;
We watched new players passing by.

[Refrain]
What a beautiful game,
Let the next quest wait.
We had so many maps to roam;
Now all we want is one more day.

[Verse 5]
The hackers never played our quests,
But took the gold out of our chests.
They changed the names upon our door;
Our key did nothing anymore.

[Pre-Chorus]
We sent reports and stayed online,
Our names, our scores, the place, the time.
We thought they'd set it right again;
We only had to wait till then.

[Bridge]
Moderators looked away.
Admins...
said everything was working.
Owners... never came.

[Verse 6]
Our names were gone, the flowers grew;
The sky still held that endless blue.
We reached the door beyond the town;
I turned before the sun went down.

[Final Chorus]
Back to game, we know the way,
We thought that we'd be here to stay.
Leave a little room for me;
There's somewhere else I'd hoped we'd be.
Back to game, the morning calls,
Beyond the gates, beyond the walls.
Whatever waits around the bend,
I'll meet you there, my oldest friend.

[Outro]
Maybe someday...
someone fair...
will own this server.

Until then...
our save is waiting.

Back to game.
