Lore
Workshop lights gather around the scrapyards beyond the abandoned cities. A discarded motor finds another use. A robot returns to work with a replacement arm that almost fits. Someone changes the mount and runs new cables outside the casing.
Some factories still turn. Others supply parts to the machines keeping the settlements alive. Between them stretch empty towers, silent roads, and rooms full of equipment waiting for power.
Nobody remembers how some of these systems were meant to sound. Their rattles have become familiar. When one falls silent, someone comes looking.
Far along the horizon, enormous curved shapes sometimes emerge through the haze.
In a workshop, a salvaged robot wakes before his eyes begin to work. Someone already knows his name.
RebopPunk takes place in a far-future civilization sustained through salvage and repair. Humans, robots, and people with mechanical bodies recover machinery for farming, building, transport, and everyday survival.
Parts come from damaged devices and obsolete robots. They may be worn, incompatible, or intended for entirely different bodies. Repair means altering connections, improvising mounts, and accepting compromises. Exposed wires and mismatched panels record those decisions.
Robots act independently, negotiate work, and incur repair debts without becoming a repairer's property. Restoring one can be an act of care, a business arrangement, or both. Keeping something alive can also become a habit nobody has questioned in years.
The Kernel follows RoboMan through this world as he finds work, pays for energy and repairs, and searches for something no diagnostic can identify.
