Born into a noble family, she knows what her refusal will cost. An unjust command becomes a sentence, and the world she was expected to inherit shrinks to a cell.
The ruler has given her walls and time. She begins finding uses for both that he never intended.
Beyond the reach of the door, she makes places to wander. The clock continues counting, but sometimes a melody carries her far enough that she no longer hears it.
Then footsteps return outside. The cell is still there.
So is everything she has been building inside it.
