Mitey's voice can sound fragile without sounding ready to surrender. She stays close to a feeling as it changes: fear becoming resolve, exhaustion giving way to imagination, an old question finding the courage to be asked again.
Her songs return to people with more inside them than their circumstances allow. A prisoner makes a world. A child keeps wondering. Someone who has fought every current finally lets the water hold them. Each asks something different of her voice.
Dreamy trance, cold echoes, deep pads, and distant percussion give her singing room to linger. Intensity grows through melody and emotional pressure; a quiet phrase can carry as much force as the surrounding music.
Across Inner Sky, she accompanies resistance, curiosity, and release. Even in the darkest passages, there is usually something she has not finished reaching toward.
Home world: The Present
Unlike the other migrants, Mitey Veyra never chose to leave, and her case connects to the freezing company only through her jailer, not through anything she agreed to. She stood with justice against oppression, and an authoritarian power sentenced her to 1,000 years in prison for it. That same authoritarian had separately arranged his own personal deal with the freezing company: an escape plan, letting him vanish into a future era if his crimes were ever exposed — safer than fleeing to another country, where he'd still be traceable. He used that same connection for a second purpose, having the company freeze his prisoners as a method of punishment. After Mitey Veyra had served a few years and proven her resilience — winning the public's heart in the process — her jailer realized executing her would only make her a martyr and a symbol. So he settled on something worse: she would actually live out the sentence, frozen, never dying through any of it. Even release would have exiled her outside her own time, into a world where she knew no one — but fate intervened anyway: the authority that condemned her lost its power after only 40 years. By then, though, she'd already been forgotten inside that capsule. She wasn't found and released until 100 years in, pulled out along with everyone else arriving into the digital Heaven era.
She came out penniless — but her voice was still a legend by then. That reputation earned her a role in the "Krakon Civilization Traders" series, where she sang several songs, including "The Poem That Remembered Me." Rebuilding a singing career through that role is what ultimately qualified her for entry into digital Heaven.
