A child gathers small, broken things. Where someone else sees rubbish, there are parts of a world waiting to be assembled.

At night, the stars make that world larger. During the day, other questions arrive. Why is someone hungry? Why is something unfair allowed to stay that way? The answers often sound like instructions to stop asking.

Years pass. Some questions become harder to say aloud. There are wounds to protect and reasons to be careful.

But now and then, an ordinary object catches the light, and the old instinct returns: perhaps something could be made from this.

The child still has a question.

Night of Castory is a memory from a world that existed first in the imagination of a child.

Castory is an ideal city built upon an artificial island floating at sea. Above its forests stands a palace on a high hill, while streams run beneath the trees and the ocean surrounds the city like a distant boundary between this imagined world and everything beyond it.

One night, beneath a full moon, the child quietly watches the world he created. From the palace, a young girl steps onto her balcony in her nightgown, climbs down into the sleeping forest, and wanders alone toward a stream. There, beneath the moon and stars, she begins to sing.

Nothing extraordinary needs to happen. The city sleeps, the forest listens, the water reflects the sky, and for a brief moment the creator simply becomes a witness inside his own creation.

Night of Castory is the song that remained with the child as a memory of that visit—a quiet testimony to a place that may never have existed in the physical world, yet became real enough to be remembered.
