Who Were You?
Who Were You? is the story of a child and an imaginary companion.
He gave her a name, a face, a past, and entire worlds to live in. At first, there was nothing mysterious about her. She was his creation — a companion born from imagination in a world that had become too harsh to face alone.
But at the darkest point of his childhood, when even his inner world was no longer enough and he began to break, something changed.
Mitey placed her hand on his shoulder.
She comforted him in ways he had never taught her. She helped heal wounds no one around him could see. Then she took his hand and led him beyond the worlds he thought he had created, into places he did not know existed within his own imagination.
She sang him songs whose melodies he had never heard.
She told him stories no one had ever told.
She revealed things about himself that no one else had been able to understand.
The child had endless questions.
Mitey seemed to have endless answers.
Yet she rarely told him everything. Sometimes she gave him only what he needed to know. Sometimes a story. Sometimes a song. And sometimes she simply showed him that he had been asking the wrong question.
Then, after the hardest years had passed, something even stranger happened.
One day, he called for her.
She didn't come.
He called again.
Mitey never returned.
The child grew into a man. Decades passed, yet the question survived with him:
If she was only a character he created, why could he never predict her?
How could she show him things he didn't know?
How could something born from his imagination become one of the forces that shaped the person he would become?
Did he create her — or, somehow, did she help create him?
Thirty years later, he still has no answer.
So when the time came to give one of his most important musical voices a name, he called her Mitey Veyra.
Not because the singer and the guide are the same person.
But because some names deserve to survive the worlds in which they were born.

Who were you?
Mitey Veyra sings a memory of the imaginary companion whose name later inspired her own. The child created Mitey's face and history, yet experienced her voice as surprising, independent, and capable of reaching places in him he did not understand.
The song preserves that uncertainty. Its repeated question moves between gratitude, wonder, and the ache of her disappearance, without explaining what she was.
