Tales from Krakon

Story

A captain takes a contract, and a small ship leaves everything familiar behind. Somewhere along its route, a settlement is living by rules the crew has never encountered. Another vessel lies silent with something still running inside. At the next port, a stranger may be looking for passage—or offering a reason to change direction entirely.

Sometimes you take a job because it is the only one available. You may never learn to love it, but leaving is something you cannot afford. Across Krakon, some people take the opportunity within reach. Others have no say in where they find themselves.

Above an unfamiliar planet, the crew waits for the captain to finish the calculations. Will there be a landing? Who will go?

Some hope never to hear their names. Others have spent so long inside the ship that almost any patch of solid ground would feel like a gift, provided the reports look safe enough. A few are eager even when they do not. There are crew members kept in storage specifically for dangerous assignments, ready to be awakened when those moments come.

But sometimes the captain's calculations favor someone else.

The descent may begin inside a cramped capsule, with barely enough room to bend your knees. Returning will require another decision, another expense, and someone above who still considers the journey worthwhile. Surviving the landing does not guarantee a place on the ship again.

You might even be left free—on a world where nobody would choose to spend that freedom.

Elsewhere, someone has a comfortable life aboard a station: a small business, familiar neighbors, and a lover with whom life fits together like the two halves of a seed. There are obligations, but also pleasures, plans, and reasons to be content.

Still, a rumor about somewhere far away refuses to leave them alone. They call it an opportunity to make their fortune. Perhaps that is part of the truth.

One half of the seed leaves for the unknown. The other waits, like a flower losing its petals.

On another world, a hero gives his life to protect his people—and discovers that he has done so before. A poem written for his beloved in his first life survives to reveal what he cannot remember.

Who stole my eternity

to give me another life to bleed through?

How many stars have they bought

with the stories of my sacrifice?

He believed the monsters were invading his home. Now he has reason to believe that neither he nor the monsters belonged there.

When he resists, the people he once defended are sent to destroy him.

Every song begins with a story.

Krakon Planet

Near a black hole, fortunes grow. Across Krakon space, trillions build comfortable lives while millions chase treasure, distant worlds, and a story worth leaving behind.

Lore

Sung by the crimson-haired performer known as Nera Voss, this song tells the story of the man who broke her forever — the old love that slowly pulled her out of the illusion of eternal romance and turned her into something colder, quieter, and impossible to fully reach again.

What began as a simple love song eventually spread across the stations and drifting crews of space, transforming the culture itself.

Cold docking sectors, temporary apartments, and lonely station bars slowly became places where people tried to build warmth, companionship, and small fragile homes instead of endlessly chasing the unknown.

Beneath its intimacy, the song hides a deeper question:

Why do people search the universe for paradise…

while paradise keeps waiting quietly beside them?

"Some hearts leave home searching for eternity…

only to realize too late they were already living inside it."

About this song

Nera Voss sings to a lover whose attention is already crossing the outer rings. The words remain inside a small shared room, where cups, boots, and unfinished songs hold a life that another departure could undo.

Her close, restrained voice carries affection alongside the knowledge that affection may not be enough to make him stay. In Krakon's culture of travel and discovery, the song asks what exploration costs the people waiting at home, and why a distant paradise can seem easier to recognize than warmth already within reach.

A warm, existential dream-funk track with an intimate station-lounge feel, slow at around 88 BPM.

Lyrics

[INTRO]
…you always look outside
when you get quiet…

[VERSE 1]
You talk about the outer rings
like they whisper back your name
Maps spread open on the floor
stars burning in your veins
Your eyes drift somewhere far from here
past windows… past the dark
while I keep learning every little rhythm
inside your heart

[PRE-CHORUS]
And maybe I'm selfish…
but the room feels warm tonight
Your jacket on the chair
your tired voice nearby
Why chase endless silence
when we already survived?

[CHORUS]
So please… don't go
don't go too far
The space out there's too wide
to find where lost things are
Stay here tonight
inside these little lights
You keep searching for forever
while forever's by your side
So please… don't go
don't go again
I don't want your stories
I just want you when the day ends

[VERSE 2]
I know the stars look beautiful
from the edge of docking rings
I know discovery feels holy
when your whole soul needs to breathe
But every time you leave this place
the silence grows too loud
and all the tiny things we built
start fading into clouds
Two cups beside the window
your boots near the bed
half-finished songs still floating
through the station haze instead

[PRE-CHORUS 2]
Maybe love is smaller
than the dreams inside your head
But smaller things stay warmer
when everything else spreads

[CHORUS]
So please… don't go
don't go too far
The dark out there's too cold
to know who you really are
Stay here tonight
where small warm planets hide
You keep chasing distant heavens
while heaven sleeps beside your eyes
So please… don't go
don't drift away
I would trade the endless stars
just to watch you slowly age

[GLITCH BREAK]
And maybe one day
you'll see another world
another station
another glowing girl
And maybe she'll remind you
of something you once knew
A soft room
warm lights
someone waiting only for you

[FINAL CHORUS]
So please… don't go
don't go too far
You'll cross a thousand galaxies
and still carry this heart
You kept looking outward
while love stayed still
Like a quiet little home
you never learned how to feel
So please… don't go…
don't go…

[OUTRO]
…docklights fading…
…one chair still empty
