Tales from Krakon

Story

A captain takes a contract, and a small ship leaves everything familiar behind. Somewhere along its route, a settlement is living by rules the crew has never encountered. Another vessel lies silent with something still running inside. At the next port, a stranger may be looking for passage—or offering a reason to change direction entirely.

Sometimes you take a job because it is the only one available. You may never learn to love it, but leaving is something you cannot afford. Across Krakon, some people take the opportunity within reach. Others have no say in where they find themselves.

Above an unfamiliar planet, the crew waits for the captain to finish the calculations. Will there be a landing? Who will go?

Some hope never to hear their names. Others have spent so long inside the ship that almost any patch of solid ground would feel like a gift, provided the reports look safe enough. A few are eager even when they do not. There are crew members kept in storage specifically for dangerous assignments, ready to be awakened when those moments come.

But sometimes the captain's calculations favor someone else.

The descent may begin inside a cramped capsule, with barely enough room to bend your knees. Returning will require another decision, another expense, and someone above who still considers the journey worthwhile. Surviving the landing does not guarantee a place on the ship again.

You might even be left free—on a world where nobody would choose to spend that freedom.

Elsewhere, someone has a comfortable life aboard a station: a small business, familiar neighbors, and a lover with whom life fits together like the two halves of a seed. There are obligations, but also pleasures, plans, and reasons to be content.

Still, a rumor about somewhere far away refuses to leave them alone. They call it an opportunity to make their fortune. Perhaps that is part of the truth.

One half of the seed leaves for the unknown. The other waits, like a flower losing its petals.

On another world, a hero gives his life to protect his people—and discovers that he has done so before. A poem written for his beloved in his first life survives to reveal what he cannot remember.

Who stole my eternity

to give me another life to bleed through?

How many stars have they bought

with the stories of my sacrifice?

He believed the monsters were invading his home. Now he has reason to believe that neither he nor the monsters belonged there.

When he resists, the people he once defended are sent to destroy him.

Every song begins with a story.

Krakon Planet

Near a black hole, fortunes grow. Across Krakon space, trillions build comfortable lives while millions chase treasure, distant worlds, and a story worth leaving behind.

Still Standing Where Heroes Fall — Lore Fragment

In the outer sectors of Krakon space, anyone with enough credits could rise high enough to own a ship.

Some chased wealth.

Some chased discovery.

Some tried to build small warm heavens inside the freezing dark.

But freedom in deep space belonged to the cruel as much as the kind.

Fuel for planetary descent was expensive, more from some of crew.

Far from inspection routes, many captains learned a simpler equation:

Cheap people were easier to sacrifice.

Disposable scouts were launched toward hostile planets inside violent descent capsules, in one way trip. If they survived long enough to find something valuable, the real crews would descend later.

The girl from The Room Was White was one of those scouts.

She broke down during descent.

Crying.

Confessing.

Admitting she had been raised inside illegal dens instead of certified facilities.

The captain realized immediately he had been cheated.

He had paid for a functioning low-grade operative and received something far worse — a fragile imitation barely stable enough to survive deployment.

To him, that weakness was a manufacturing defect.

But on the planet below, that defect became the only thing keeping someone alive.

She found the ruins first.

Signals worth fortunes across Krakon space.

One by one, elite operatives were awakened and deployed to secure the discovery.

And one by one, they died.

The heroes rushed forward trying to conquer the planet.

She hid.

They hunted.

She listened.

They fought the world.

She survived inside it.

To the growing disbelief of the ship’s crew, the frightened expendable girl remained alive while the captain’s expensive specialists vanished into the jaws of the planet.

Eventually the losses became too costly even for greed.

The captain prepared to abandon the operation entirely, leaving her behind with the wreckage and the monsters.

But before the ship could leave orbit, something happened

About this song

A disposable scout is sent ahead of valuable operatives to a hostile planet in Krakon space. Raised in the illegal hatcheries remembered in "The Room Was White," she has neither the training nor the confidence her captain expected to purchase.

The refrain stays close to one immediate need: keep breathing. Hiding, listening, and adapting allow her to survive where the celebrated specialists cannot. The song treats fear as part of her survival, giving an unfinished, frightened person room to exist without turning her into a fearless hero. The accompanying lore leaves what happens before the ship's departure unresolved.

A dreamy, synth-driven ethereal track with cinematic ambient textures and fragile vocal layers, moving from fear through fracture into quiet defiance — "I was made to break… yet I'm still here."

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I was grown inside a warning
White walls, borrowed breath
They said my fear was faulty
That I'd fail before my death

Purple skies are bleeding slowly
Crimson teeth inside the ground
They wake the heroes every morning
Just to hear them hit the sound

[Pre-Chorus]
I was never built for glory
Never trained to reach the flame
But something small keeps holding
A trembling version of my name

[Chorus]
Don't die…
Not like them
I'm still standing where heroes fell
Hands shaking, heart too thin
But I'm breathing in this hell

Don't die…
Not today
I was made of fear and cracks
Yet the world forgot one thing
I don't know how to give it back

[Verse 2]
They hunt to rule the ending
No circles, no laws, no crown
Only wars that eat their winners
Till no victory stays around

I hide between the colors
Where the monsters never look
I learned survival isn't courage
It's refusing to be took

[Pre-Chorus 2]
Every scream becomes a teacher
Every loss rewrites my skin
I was born to be consumed here
But I stayed… and stayed again

[Chorus]
Don't die…
Hear me now
I'm not brave, I'm not divine
I'm just something left unfinished
In a place that eats the fine

Don't die…
Say it low
If I fall, don't make it loud
Let me fade without becoming
Just another broken sound

[Bridge]
(why am I here)
(why am I here)
(why… am I still here)

I watched the chosen turn to dust
I watched the fearless disappear
If this world was made for winners
Why am I the one still here

[Final Chorus]
Don't die…
I don't know how
I don't have a reason left
But the fear they put inside me
Taught me how to hold my breath

Don't die…
Let it ache
Let it hurt, let it stay
If this planet breaks me slowly
I'll still live… one more day

[Outro]
(breathing)
(still here)
(still…)
